Inquire About Raising Capital
Since 2021, we’ve evaluated ventures focused on every aspect of animal health. Our members make direct investments in early-stage ventures as angel investors, providing support for these ventures and their entrepreneur founders in the hopes of supporting innovation and generating meaningful investment returns for members. Our investment capital often serves to bridge the gap between bootstrapping or founder-related capital and venture or private equity capital, for ventures looking to scale at a national or global level. We have a dedicated and systematic deal flow process and are always looking for innovative ventures focused on improving some sectors of the animal health industry.

Ventures
Industry Focused
For starters, we're solely focused on the animal health industry so ventures need to be directly focused on our industry. We will consider any venture with an animal health industry focus, provided they have the potential to scale nationally or globally. Approximately 90% of ventures that have come through our pipeline are focused on the companion animal sub-sector, we will also consider animal health ventures focused on livestock, wildlife, research, and ecosystem health.
Our Geography
We look for ventures that are directly focused on the North American animal health market. The vast majority of our members are based in the US and we understand the North American market best. For companies focused on Europe or other global regions, we often refer ventures over to Animal Health Angels.
Actively Raising Capital & Investment Stage
As angel investors, it shouldn't be any surprise that we only want to review active deals/ventures that are actively raising capital. Due to the phenomenal diversity and experience of our members, we do have ventures that simply want us to provide feedback on their deal(s) from an industry expertise perspective. Sometimes we can help with this on an informal basis but we don't accept "feedback-only deals" into our pipeline. We review deals in many investment stages including Pre-Seed, Seed, Bridge, and Series A. We usually don't look at deals in Series B or later stages unless they are follow-on deals from one of our existing portfolio companies.
Entity Type & Funding Vehicle
Ventures are only eligible to enter our pipeline if they're organized as a C corporation (C Corp) or an LLC (or an equivalent if they're organized outside the US) with C Corp status being highly preferred. We'll consider various investment vehicles including Priced Equity, Convertible Notes, and SAFEs. While we've invested in each of these vehicles, Priced Equity is most preferred, followed by Convertible Notes, and SAFEs being least preferred.
Financial Dimensions
We're looking for "angel-friendly" deals that provide ample opportunities for our members to receive positive returns. To enter our pipeline for the first time, these deals tend to be smaller with Pre-Money Valuations of <$15M, Projected Revenues of at least $10M in 5 years or less, and raising <$1M in capital. We also require the deal structure to allow a minimum investment of less than $75K per investor and strongly prefer a minimum investment of $10K-$25K per investor. Follow-on deals from our portfolio companies often exceed these parameters. For new deals that exceed the parameters noted above, we have just launched a second pipeline with a different process to give our members access to these deals.
